Research creates no benefits for society until it is used--by forest landowners, by consulting foresters and land managers, or by decision-makers in private companies or public agencies. They can't use it until they know about it. Therefore, publishing journal articles, speaking at meetings, and blogging are key pathways to making research results more widely known.

The Seventh American Forest Congress was held in 1996. Unfortunately, reports that emerged in 1996 from round table meetings regionally and locally before the Congress and discussions at the Congress have not been available online before now.
