This video tells the grand story of America’s long history of forest research and management. From the beginnings of the U.S. Forest Service with Teddy Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot to the highly skilled forest scientists around the country, America’s forests are a legacy worth protecting.
I commissioned this video to introduce America's forests and their history to 2,500 delegates from around the world who were attending the 2014 World Congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) in Salt Lake City. I contributed to writing the script, oversaw production, and introduced the video at the Opening Ceremony. IUFRO's video channel has many other videos from recent meetings.
